Swanage Moguls Update

31806:

31806 has recently returned to the Swanage Railway from its appearances at the Great Central and North Norfolk Railway Steam Galas and has now settled back into service on the Swanage Railway. It is due to star in the railways forthcoming Spring Steam Gala, April 8th – 10th, alongside M7 30053, Bullied Pacific No. 34070 Manston, Standard Class 4 Tank No. 80104 and GW Tank No. 4247 visiting from the Bodmin and Wenford Railway. Services during this gala are due to run to Bridge 4, the limit of Swanage Railway operations on the section between Norden and Worgret Junction.

31874:

Work is still progressing steadily on the restoration on the sole surviving N Class No. 31874 in Herston Works. The smoke deflectors have been trial fitted, lubricator and pipe work connected up, buffers fitted onto the front buffer beam, vacuum and steam heat pipes fitted permanently. The tender axle boxes are currently being painted and are due to be fitted to the tender frames when the tender tank and frames arrive at Herston Works in due course.

Our other U Class No. 31625 is still sat in the cattle dock in Corfe Castle awaiting its turn in Herston Works for overhaul.
